Boards by Jersey was brough to life in 2021 by Julie Eckert after retiring from a 30+ year career. Julie has a passion for woodworking, an eye for creative elements, and a sense of perfectionism that leaves her unique mark for high-quality work in each and every piece she creates.
I've always had an interest in woodworking+ building things! For years, I have made pieces as small as picture frames all the way up to larger furniture pieces.
During the pandemeic, I spent WAY too much time on YouTube watching videos and learning new woodworking skills. This is really what encourgaged me to take a leap of faith and start this business! After taking it slow and working and re-working to create the perfect board, I finally nailed down the perfect method to create a board that I was ready to sell!
It's important to me to craft high-quality pieces that my customers will love to use time and time again and have in their homes for years and years to come.
Right now, I am a one-woman show -- I am the woodworker, the finisher, the packager, the quality contral gal, the marketer, the accountant -- basically, I wear all of the hats, and that is what makes this business so special to me!

I felt compelled to pick a charity to continiously give back to in my business. One that I know will have a lasting impact -- which is why I have choosed to give back to One Tree Planted.
When my parents passed away we purchased trees in their honor, so I found it fitting to donate a tree for every cutting board sold through One Tree Planted. Not only does this have a positive impact on the environment with reforestation but also a great way to keep honoring my parents.
